Parador house is named after Pyramis Parador (1666-1777), one of the four founders of Avistrum. He was a Scottish wizard who came to the colonies in 1689. A student at Britain’s famous school of witchcraft and wizardy from 1677-1684, he was a Prefect and Head Boy. Parador excelled at Charms and Defense Against Dark Magic. He originally came to the colonies to combat werewolves, which were rampant in New England at the time.
Parador was the youngest of the Avistrum founders, only 31 at the time the school was started. He served as Headmaster from 1707 until his retirement in 1769.
Parador prized courage above all else in his students, usually picking those who exhibited the trait ahead of all others. Paradors are also known for their integrity and tenacity.
The symbol of Parador House is the phoenix, the bird who dies in a burst of flame, only to be reborn from the ashes.
The current head of Parador House is Polonius Aberfoyle, Professor of Transfiguration. They are the current House Cup Champions.
